Collection: Flying Colours 15 June - 6 July
Susan Dugdale - Di Bourne-Arton - Catriona Stewart
June brings a celebration of colour by Di Bourne-Arton, Susan Dugdale and Catriona Stewart.
Di Bourne-Arton studied at Harrogate Art College and graduated from Leeds Met in 2000. Working in layers, colours and textures, her painting encompasses the sense of figure and landscapes inspired by the moorland and the woods around her home.
Susan Dugdale trained at St. Martins School of Art and Leeds Polytechnic, graduating in 1975 with a BA in Graphic Design. She is greatly inspired by her surrounding natural landscape and often collects flowers from her garden, placing them within her home alongside treasured objects, which provide beautiful compositions for some of her still life works.
This new series of abstract paintings by Catriona Stewart, ‘The Healing of the Heart’, titled after the Leonard Cohen song, explores the power of colour and its effects and the influence that it has on us. Catriona envisages her paintings could be seen more as objects, like icons, or talismans, for contemplation, or to heal an illness.
