Ruth Ander

Straddling the space between painting and printmaking, Ruth's gestural monotypes, drypoints and mixed media pieces strive to evoke the sublimity of ancient landscapes and seascape. 

Ruth combines mono-prints on tissue paper as a starting point and impetus. Sometimes moving to working on wooden boards, these are then built up with layers of collage, paint and drawing to create mixed media evocations of place with all the translucency and gesture inherent in printmaking.
