Collection: John Egerton

John Egerton studied Design at Scarborough College of Art before training as a teacher at Hornsey College of Art. In 1965 he returned to his native Yorkshire and established his first pottery workshop.

He originally worked in earthenware but in 1970 he switched to oxidised stoneware. By mixing glazes, adding oxides and over-glazing he can now achieve a wide range of ceramic effects.

Sixty years after establishing his first studio he continues to innovate.
