Collection: Jenny Morten

Jenny Morten trained at York School of Art and Central St Martins.

A professional member of the Craft Potters Association, Jenny has designed for industry and taught in schools and colleges while continuing her own ceramic practise.

While living in California from 2003-2012, Jenny developed her current method of working in a fine porcelain body, which is thrown or coli built. The large sculptural coil built pieces have glazed interiors with contrasting exterior surfaces, which are then decorated using layers of slips and masking techniques, before being fired to 1080c.

The smaller thrown pieces are also decorated using coloured slips which are then glazed and fired to a higher temperature, making them suitable for practical use - microwavable and dishwasher safe.
