Ian McNicol

Ian McNicol was born in Elderslie in 1965. He studied Architecture for 3 years at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, GSA, before changing to Technical Graphics and Illustration at Glasgow College of Building and Printing.

In 1993 Ian Joined the Glasgow Print Studio as an Artist member to pursue a Fine Art career training in house and gaining valuable experience under Master printmaker, Stuart Duffin.

Ian currently works at the GPS as Senior Etching technician and Master Printer with much of his time spent working on the Education programme and as Collaborating artist with well established contemporary artists including – Barbara Rae, Ken Currie, John Byrne, Elizabeth Blackadder, Eileen Cooper, Katherine Jones and Ian Ritchie.
